A NEW PAPER FROM THE MORIARTY LAB

“Biomechanics of Borrelia burgdorferi Vascular Interactions” was published online in Cell Reports on Thursday August 25th, 2016.

The paper is now ranked in the top 2% of all papers ever tracked by Altmetric (and is still going up), and has been reported by 34 media outlets and counting!

Big congratulations to the first author Rhodaba Ebady, and co-authors from the Moriarty lab Alex Niddam, Anna Bozula, Gloria Kim, Nupur Gupta, Cornelia Tang, Tanya Odisho, and collaborators Craig Simmons, Hui Zhi and Jon Skare.

ANNOUNCEMENT: Boris Hinz awarded Distinguished Professor title

I am very pleased to announce that Professors Boris Hinz and Craig Simmons have been awarded the title Distinguished Professor from the University of Toronto in recognition of their exceptional accomplishments and exemplary promise as both researchers and educators.

Professor Boris Hinz’s title will be Distinguished Professor of Tissue Repair and Regeneration, honouring his work in biomaterials and physiological tissue repair, while Professor Craig Simmons has been named Distinguished Professor of Mechanobiology, in recognition of his work in the field of cellular mechanics.


CONGRATULATIONS TO ZEESHAN SHEIKH!

Dr. Zeeshan Sheikh, a postdoctoral fellow working under Professor Michael Glogauer in the Matrix Dynamic Group, has won a prestigious and highly competitive research grant from the American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID).

The grant represents only the second time that a student from a Canadian institution has received AAID funding. Sheikh will present his winning research at the AAID Annual Conference, to be held in New Orleans in October of this year.
